Political Spokesperson and Senior Editor. Apsara is one of India's most respected and well-known transsexual woman who has risen in the ranks of journalism and politics. Armed with a BA degree in Journalism and as a student Body President at Monash University, Australia and an MA in Broadcasting with a special focus on Developmental Economics (City University, London), Apsara has worked with the BBC WORLD SERVICE, Commonwealth Secretariat in London, New Indian Express and Deccan Chronicle. She also writes columns in National newspapers on LGBT rights.
As a journalist she has covered the Tsunami from Sri Lanka, India and Indonesia. She has also been the voice of LGBT Radio on Joy Melbourne, Australia during her student days in Australia. After her education, Apsara also worked briefly with UNICEF to launch a health campaign across South India. She is an active voice that speaks against violence against women, corruption and is a respected voice on National TV debates. She was in the year 2013 awarded an excellence award by Jaguar Motors.
