Activist, International Inclusive/Gay Rugby Community.

Activist, International Inclusive/Gay Rugby Community. Former Secretary General of the European Parliament Rugby Union Intergroup; Deputy Coordinator of Union Cup 2015 and 2017, the Europe’s largest Inclusive Rugby Tournament.

As part of his work he has worked with national rugby federations to sign anti-discrimination agreements, introduce training for coaches and referees, launch awareness campaigns and look to form a model at an institutional level for tackling discrimination in rugby, that can be followed by other sports where LGBT+phobia is sadly more prominent.

The Union Cup 2017 is the largest sporting component for the World Pride Madrid 2017. Europe’s largest inclusive rugby tournament was this year hosted by the Madrid Titanes RFC from 28-30 April and saw more than 1000 players and supporters from 30 different European teams participate in a 3 day event across the city. This year the Madrid Titanes took the unprecedented step of inviting South Africa’s Jozi Cats, the only inclusive rugby team in Africa, to the European tournament in recognition of the hard work they are doing on the continent and to help raise their visibility at home.
